hm... i think i prefer the unmasked version.. simply this-- and this is a minor crit: but it looks as if the mask is 'disconnected' from his face. it doesn't give an impression of wrapping along his brow. perhaps it can be resolved by hinting some of that impression pressed against his face. so perhaps some occlusion shadow around certain areas of the mask?

Yeah, that's what I thought too. I tried to do something like this [link] and I stopped early because I knew if I kept painting the mask, I would fuck it up, lol! And it was supposed to be only a masked version, but then I spent so much time on his face that I thought it looked much better without the mask D: and on the lineart it looks better with the mask. This is why I hate doing linearts first sometimes, hah. Thank you!
